Art and nature have fascinated and attracted me all my life, however, I started out as a scientist. I graduated with a degree in biology from Moscow State University, received my PhD at the Institute of Immunology and worked as a Post Doc at the Molecular Biology Department in Princeton University.

Then, the inevitable happened, and art took over as I changed my life completely with the help of my wonderful friend and enamel teacher, Kathy Wood.

Nature remained an inspiration to me all these years and many of my enamels depict plants or animals. I love birds and especially all marine life and enjoy going scuba diving to see them.
